Research interests

We interested in the function and regulation of ion channels with a particular focus to the regulation of cellular excitability. We try to develop a mechanistic understanding of neuronal communication and how these mechanisms are affected in various neurological diseases, such as stroke and epilepsy. Example of specific current projects include: i) Regulation of M-type K+ channels by oxidants and zinc; ii) Neuroprotective role of M channels in epilepsy and stroke.
